Paola Paronetto, Cartoccio Paper Clay
Paola Paronetto, the Italian ceramist and designer, has added to her Paper Clay a few new pieces called Oro, Corteccia, Lisci and Colore.
The original version, Cartoccio Paper Clay, is a series of ceramic objects with a corrugated paper-like surface. Vivid colours and warm natural tones are Colore’s signature, sometimes with an overall colour finish on the outside (Cartocci Colore) or with coloured geometric segments (Cartocci Finestra Colore).
Paola Paronetto applied pure gold with a brush (fixed in a baking process) on the Oro bottles and bowls. Corteccia alternates plain and textured surfaces, whereas Lisci displays plain segments highlighting every volumes. Paola Paronetto’s Cartoccio series were exhibited at Maison & Objet 2012 in Paris.
