Atelier OÏ x Venini, Stelle Filenti
The Swiss design studio Atelier Oï created the "Stelle Filenti" ("shooting stars") hanging lamps for Venetian company Venini. Venini's art director Roberto Gasparotto invited Atelier Oï to experiment with the most traditional Venetian artistic craft material, glass, combined with leather and Alcantara fabric. A net supports and envelops the top of the blown-glass diffuser.

5 seconds to pitch a story: Milan-based creative studio H-57 collaborated with First Floor Under to depict the story of famous people in history, using infographics. Vitra x Marije Vogelzang x Zaha Hadid: « Eat Love » & Bastard Bread
Du design culinaire sur le campus Vitra : Marije Vogelzang a investi la fameuse caserne de pompiers de Weil am Rhein, signée Zaha Hadid. Secondée d’un boulanger, la designer culinaire néerlandaise a affiché des mots d’amour sur les murs des lieux… à l’aide de quelque 2500 petits pains hybrides, des « pains bâtards », inspirés de trois spécialités allemande, française et suisse.
Food design on the Vitra campus: Marije Vogelzang transformed the Zaha Hadid Firestation into a bakery. With the help of 2 500 « bastard breads », inspired by German dark sourdough, French Baguette and Swiss sweet Zopf bread, the Dutch eating designer wrote love sentences on the walls.
Situé en Allemagne, entree les frontières française et suisse, le campus Vitra invitait ainsi les ressortissants de ces trois pays à partager le pain, à l’occasion de la Summer party organisée dans le cadre d’Art Basel.
« Le pain », explique la designer Marije Vogelzang, « est à la base de nombre de cultures. C’est la matérialisation de textures variées, moulées en formes différentes qui se figent sous l’effet du feu. »
The Vitra campus is located in Germany right between Switzerland and France. At the night of the Campus’ summer party, people from these three countries were invited to share the bread.
« Bread », says designer Marije Vogelzang, »is at the base of most cultures. It is pure existence of textures moulded into various shapes and completed with fire. »
