If robots could see: James Dyson teams up with Imperial College London
A robot that could actually see, analyze and respond to its environment: this might be James Dyson’s next invention. The founder of the Dyson company, who has been researching robotics for decades, is now taking R&D to the next step, announcing the launch of the Dyson Robotics Laboratory. A joint robotics lab with Imperial College London, a 5-year investment program (£5 million, 15 scientists and a team of Dyson research, software, and electronics engineers), aiming at developing “vision systems”, encompassing “sensing, interpretation of environment and interaction – which effectively amounts to a sense of sight”.
