For her graduation project at the wo years ago, Eleonore Delisse had chosen to redesign the SAD lamp used by those who are suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (also known, more commonly, as “Winter blues”). The DAE designer remarked that the SAD lamps meant to get your body the light it needs, helping to regulate the body’s circadian rhythm, are usually designed little regard to aesthetics.
With her Day&Night lights, fruit of her collaboration with fellow designer Laura Ferriere, Eleonore Delisse aims to regulate biological clocks and offer a stylish alternative to SAD sufferers. Each duo of lamps consists of a circular plate of colored glass and a wooden body—blue for during the day, red for night.
Now, the good News: Two years after she presented her prototypes at theDesign Academy Eindhoven graduation show, the lights are now available through Kickstarter, sold by pair.
