ArtStage: a curated mix of artworks and vintage design furniture
This is a rather unusual sight at the ArtStage fair: Art Agenda S.E.A. has partnered with 1B2G to display a curated ensemble of artworks and vintage, perfectly patined, mid-century Danish furniture – not current either in Singapore…
Among the exhibited pieces are a high back lounge chair (Model 503-7 “Seal”) designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003), a two-seater sofa (Model V11) by Illum WIkkelsø for Holgar Christiansen in the 1960-1970’s, a sideboard designed by Arne Vodder for Sibast Furniture, a rare Hans Wegner’s “New Papa Bear Chair” upholstered in wool, along with a pair of his famous model JH 501 chairs (1950), produced by Johannes Hansen.
“It is such an iconic piece that it is usually referred to as “The Chair”. One of the most famous Danish pieces of furniture, it has been dubbed the “World’s most beautiful chair” by Interiors magazine,” enthuses 1B2G founder Lynette Wong. These beautiful original pieces are to be admired (and tried) at Artstage on booth A1A until the 28th.
