Maarten Baptist, Lucky Love chair
Maarten Baptist's Lucky Love chair embodies, says the designer, «Dutch craftsmanship, and you can see and feel the time and attention we all put into it. The first impression is a comfortable happy inviting product. The clear use of materials shows how it’s made. This part is the Dutch design part. » First exhibited at the Eat Drink Design venue in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week, the Lucky Love chair also claims « some Scandinavian characteristics in the black frame and the real wood that is used », and a Japanese touch in the shapes of the heart and the rounded "fingers". It seems like Pierre Guariche or Donald Knorr 's 1950's creations might have influenced Maarten Baptist here.
