Playing house in Eindhoven

Time to play house! During the Dutch Design Week (Oct.18-26), the Dutch Supermodels Doll houses (hotel rooms, offices and exhibition galleries designed to scale) will be displayed at the Klokgebouw. Among the playful creators are designers & architects Makkink & Bey, Ineke Hans, Scholten & Baijings, Frederik Roije, Van Eijk & Van Lubbe, textile designer Claudy Jongstra, wayfinding specialist Mijksenaar, exhibition designers Kossmann.dejong, artist Krijn de Koning, furniture manufacturer DUM.

Dutch design super models: the doll house

Hippest. Doll house. Ever. Imagine a toy designed by the most famouse Dutch designers, artists and architects, asked to imagine and build an interior at scale 1:12. Amongst them are designers & architects Makkink & Bey, Ineke Hans, Scholten & Baijings, textile designer Claudy Jongstra, wayfinding specialist Mijksenaar, exhibition designers Kossmann.dejong, artist Krijn de Koning and furniture manufacturer DUM. Together, these designs to scale, ranging from hotel rooms, to offices and exhibition galleries, form the "Dutch Design (Doll) House", on display at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Scholten & Baijings, MINI concept car

Previously seen in Milan for the Salone, the MINI concept car "Colour One" by designers Scholten & Baijings has parked at the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven for the Dutch Design Week 2012.

Christien Meindertsma, the Flax Project: du lin et de l’idée

La designer Christien Meindertsma (studio Flocks) s'est plongée dans l'histoire de l'art du cordage aux Pays-Bas au 16e siècle pour mettre en oeuvre le Flax project, une collection entièrement basée sur l'utilisation du lin ("flax") et le recours aux techniques ancestrales. Based on a thorough study of the 16th century Dutch cordage industry history, designer Christien Meindertsma (studio Flocks) has chosen to create the Flax project, a collection entirely made of flax, processed according to ancient techniques.

Le musée municipal de la ville de S'Hertogenbosch, aux Pays-Bas, consacrera prochainement une exposition au travail du très apprécié duo de designers Scholten & Baijings. S'Hertogenbosch Stedelijk Museum (SM's), in the Netherlands, will hold an exhibition of Scholten & Baijings' acclaimed work.
