The fabric NY apartment: Do Ho Suh at Contemporary Austin

Do Ho Suh’s former New York apartment at 348 West 22nd Street has moved to Austin, Texas. The abstract Korean artist designed the structure & layout out of sheer polyester threads and stainless steel tubing. Exhibited at the Contemporary Austin museum, visitors can walk through the apartment, complete with replicas of a stove, a radiator, a toilet and a shower designed and recreated after Do Ho Suh's New York apartment.

Johanna Grawunder x Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Big Sky: from Texas to Paris

American designer Johann Grawunder, who worked with Ettore Sottsass from 1985 to 2001, found inspiration in Texas (though she is California-born and raised), known for its trademark "Big Sky". The exhibition at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris shows pieces that belong to the famous American school of minimalism (think Dan Flavin, Donald Judd or James Turrell); Grawunder uses light to sculpt and shape the objects - all of them as functional as full of poetry.
